Almost every treatment can be carried out under anaesthesia. Mostly larger procedures are carried out under anaesthesia, for example implantation, preparation for crowns or bridges.

In case of serious heart disease, blood disorders, enzyme disease, respiratory disease the treatment can’t be carried out under general anaesthesia. Although a light sedation is possible. In case of increased temperature, fever or a cold the treatment has to be postponed.

Before the procedure a questionnaire has to be completed, which relates to the general state of health and possible diseases. If necessary or over the age of 40 the patient should bring an ECG and a laboratory test result with him/her.

Before the treatment the patient shouldn’t have eaten or drunk for 6 hours, furthermore he/she shouldn’t smoke.

Anaesthesia may take up maximum 1,5-2 hours.

Within 24 hours after the general anaesthesia you should stay with a responsible person within a radius of 3 km of the clinic.
